The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as "partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership."
While both life coaches and therapists help individuals improve their lives, therapists typically focus on addressing mental health issues and past traumas, while life coaches focus on helping individuals achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being. We accomplish this through deep inquiry and radical self-compassion.
Excellent and important question! I encourage you to consider the three C's:
Credentials: Coaching is an unregulated profession, and therefore, anyone can claim they are a coach without the proper training. There are several training programs out there that are not accredited through ICF, meaning, ICF has not granted their stamp of approval. I am a dual certified coach practitioner through two incredible ICF accredited programs; Coach Training Alliance (2014) & Physician Coaching Institute (2021). Working directly with organizational leaders and their teams, providers and small business owners, I’ve logged hundreds of coaching hours across many leadership levels and industries.
Compatibility: This can mean many things. Does the coach have experience working with clients in situations similar to yours? You may prefer in-person sessions rather than meeting virtually. Another important factor is alignment on logistics and scheduling. Every coach has their own unique approach and philosophy, so it’s important to find one that resonates with you. I offer a free clarity call for not only my benefit in determining coach readiness and alignment, but for you to see if I meet all of your expectations. In the end, listen to your gut; or as I like to say, your inner knowing.
Cost: Coaching is an investment in your future self. You’ve probably come to the conclusion that you can’t go this alone any longer, which is why you’re here. According to the ICF Global Coaching Study, 99% of individuals and companies who hire a coach are “satisfied or very satisfied” and 96% say they would repeat the process. The median ROI is 7x the investment. Consider the cost if you do nothing. This decision is personal and significant. You’re worth it!
My approach to goal-setting is to help clients identify specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. I also work with clients to create an action plan and provide accountability to ensure they stay on track to achieve their goals.
Confidentiality is of utmost importance in my coaching practice. I adhere to the International Coach Federation's (ICF) Code of Ethics, which includes strict guidelines for maintaining client confidentiality.
Yes, and congrats on taking this next step in moving your life forward. This 30 minute clarity call, held via Zoom, gives us both a chance to assess compatibility, wrap our arms around your goals and discuss how to get better results together.
I simply ask that you come with an open mind and your authentic self. A warm beverage doesn't hurt either.
My one-on-one coaching services are billed at a flat monthly rate.
This holds the same 50-minute space on my calendar just for you, gives you access to support between sessions as well as just-in-time tools to move you forward.
The cost of my team retreats vary as each experience is customized to your specific needs. Whether your team is full time, part time or per diem... in the office, hybrid, or fully remote, this dedicated investment of time will have an exponential impact on the team dynamics, the quality of their work and the feeling of belonging.
